Market Placeというサイトのエントリーから。 ティーポットのデザインが面白い。

ちなみに、virtuosoは、「名手、美術通」。on the boardsという表現は、「舞台に立っている」という意味で、この場合は、「作品がお店に並んでいる」という比喩として使われています。

今日は、Oz forumというオーストラリアのフォーラムサイトから、基本的な質問の仕方を紹介します。

「〜よりも...を好む」。

'Suet is the hard fat from around a cow's kidneys. Suetというのは、「牛や羊などの腎臓の固い脂肪」のことで、料理で使われるそうです。知らなかった！

昨日買ってきたハーブたちが朝日をいっぱい浴びて元気そう。ハーブ育ては簡単とはいえ、なにをどうすればいいのか、ちょっとしたコツがほしいものです。ということで、今日は、'How to Grow an Herb Garden Indoors'とサイトで見つけたアドバイスをひとつ。使いすぎないで、元気な部分はちゃんと残してあげなきゃね。

ちなみに、 full-fledgedは「一人前の、ちゃんと手足のついた」というような意味。ここでは、「一戸建てのちゃんとした家」って感じでね。

写真がブログに載せようとすると、パソコンが固まってしまうですよね。どうしたものでしょう？

ちなみに、draperiesは「優雅なひだをつける手法」。

ここでは、sheetが「〜を覆う」→「激しく降る、流れる」として、動詞で使われています。

今日のメルボルンの天気は、まさにこんな状況。今週一週間は雨降りが続くとか。子どものエネルギーをどう発散させてあげようか、今から悩むところです。

Incredible Thingsというサイトのエントリー、 'Candy Sushi'から。子どもは手でつかんで食べられるものが好きですよね。その意味では、すしは最高だと思うけど、まだまだ生の魚を食べさせるのは、お母さんたちにとっては抵抗があるようです。でもこれなら？
